Two things are simple to say: I found robegts “Coda” actually an epilogue named in the same dance-piece keigh as the “measures” a let-down after the growing power of Pavane’s measures. Technological development stagnated after reaching the level of the steam locomotive and the primitive radio, but when the story opens ina revolution is building. Some of the stories are more successful than others, but all are powerful and intelligent; this is an outstanding work of alternate history, which deserves to be better known.
