True Stories of White House Weirdness for just two of the books he references. All of his confidence runs out of him as he pisses himself seeing Nathaniel Cade, the President’s Vampire, for the first time. The best part is that Cade is not your run of the mill vampire with all the goth angst and sissy stuff vampire fiction has beat us over the head with for years.
Even if it is a little silly in plot, it is quite imaginative and has plenty of twists and turns along the way. Konrad has previously been encountered by Cade developing bio-weapons for the Nazis and had been arrested in Nigeria by Cade and Griff in ; however, Konrad used his skills to save President Ronald Reagan ‘s life after the attempt on his life in ; in return for this favour, and handing over his Elixir, he was granted a full pardon, U.
It was only a matter of time, given the current vampire craze, that someone attempted to fuse political intrigue with everyone’s favorite blood-suckers. Then he gets assigned to a position he can’t really resign from or turn down.

A platter served by one Mr. Yet the reality is that the villians he encounters are the true abominations of mankind. In fact, the young man really was a vampire. While Zach slows down the final zombie and ensures the safety of Candace and Curtis’ family, the final zombie comes within inches of killing the president, and fatally wounds Griff when he throws himself in front a strike aimed at a defenceless Cade. The corpses were bloodless, except the one that the young man held in his arms.

Bring on the bloodsucking fiends! Denton tries to kill the leader when he believes he will escape, only to find the leader is similarly fast and avoids his shot. Reading this particular book helped convinced me to pursue my own writing, primarily because I figured I could do the same thing at least as well as Christopher Farnsworth, and I admire bloov guys work, so I was setting the bar high. I feel like there are two types of readers.
At first I didn’t like Zach. I do wish we got to know him better, but that only made me want the next book more to be honest. A vampire with a concience, attitude, a dry sense of humor, faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, fighting to protect our country from the truly evil glood and all without being a doey-eyed, love lorn tween shades of Hell Boy anyone?
And you’ve just been drafted. At bloood he was until he was caught in a compromising position with the President’s daughter. Nathaniel Cade should totally be the next action, adventure star. But that aside, this was a great book.

Cade is bound by his blood oath to protect. And a p Having accidentally read book 3 first, and having just finished this book book 1 all I can think of is That is until he’s reassigned. If the banter had been witty instead of predictable, if the absolute absurdity of it all could have been embraced without always bringing it back to the seriousness of politics and patriotism, and, most importantly, if there had been a vampire that was interesting, this book would have lived up to my expectations.
As Cade leaves, he is stopped by Tania, a female vampire he failed to help in the past. Cade is a vampire who has sworn a blood oath to protect the president and his team. Instead, he’s just being compelled by the spell of a voodoo queen and a need to right his wrongs. So I was more than ready to tackle Blood Oathwhich, based upon several excellent reviews, I thought would also put the bite back into the genre.
