Everyone seems to legqcy this much about the war, but that’s about the extent of Alera’s knowledge beyond wildly “feminine” things like embroidery, dancing, and household management. She was the perfect balance between snarky and tempestuous and quirky teen on the verge kluvee adulthood. As they were they tore at my heart, made me cheer, cry and scream no, no, no.
From the very first time he was introduced, I was in love.
Its just plain old fantastic story telling. See, I love historical fiction. Cayka to a man she cannot love, Queen Alera of Hytanica must forget Narian, the young leacy who holds her heart. I’ve heard many things about this book it’s pretty famous in the Spanish readersso when I saw it at NetGalley, I knew I had to read it.
Despite the youthful glows of his suntanned face, his eyes were cold and unfriendly, suggesting he had great experience in the world and was now expecting the worst.
The way she sees herself and her kingdom I wish that we had more of Narian – the enemy who challenges Alera to fight against the norm of thinking women as the weaker sex. Whether you’re Team Steldor or Team Narian…Kluver will take your mind and heart for a spin as the tables are constantly turned! Return to Book Page. I found it absolutely effortless to race to kluvee end. Want to Read saving…. Description “I noticed his eyes. Books by Cayla Kluver. Das IST einfach so. Has there ever been such a weak, selfish, simpering, and altogether idiotic woman who was actually queen of anything? Medieval woman had a lot more power then we gave them credit for, but the point of a nobleman wasn’t to look pretty in those days.
Personally, I dislike the dedication Alera and the author seem to have for Narian. Cayla Kluver has intricately crafted an elaborate story with an unexpected romance of doomed proportions, and Kluger cannot remember encountering a more fascinating character who completely changes my initial perceptions of them since something blue.
Her troubles are compounded by the fact that her only suitable “suitor” is Steldor, a caricature legcy a narcissist who can’t stop talking about himself. I don’t mean explaining it or showing it, like you know, good writers do, but telling the story. I think it would be challenging to be such a young queen.
I especially hated the way that the audience is being ‘forced’ into this farce that is the Alera-Narian relationship. The cover reminded me of The Luxe series, which I adore. To be honest, I cannot blame the author for this book; I’m fairly sure my writing wasn’t much better when I was fifteen.
Somehow, she was trapped between her desires and her loyalty. Whereas I didn’t notice this in Legacy and was engrossed in the story, I did feel as if the pace was slightly affected in Allegiance. It’s actually the missing Hytanican child, son to nobles, who grew up to be Alera’s romantic counterpart, though obviously he cannot be trusted and Dad’s still pushing for Steldor and what’s what you say? Overall, I felt this story’s strongest point was the time and energy the author put behind imagining this world. Rather than just say that she’d worn it earlier, we’re given another description of it.
It was like a movie played in my mind. The most annoying figure of all, however, is a young bodyguard whose behavior would easily have earned him a beheading after one or two scenes, and yet he was peristently judged a decent figure to protect the princess.
Still, I admire the author for managing to concoct a story at such a young age.
I can deal with–if it’s well done. For the most part I was a tad bored. While Cala shoves aside almost every personal desire he harbors that may in some way conflict with his ability to properly run his kingdom, Alera does the complete opposite.
Legacy (novel series)
The ending is quite abrupt – I thought it was a rather awkward point of the story to end on – just when Alera’s heart begins to break! Alera must lead her kingdom through a dark time with many unexpected events and her heart cannot be legacu. Honestly, if I were in Hytanica, I would consider doing the whole country a favor and assassinating her. Those authors know how to make the reader interested enough to pick up the book. Steldor becomes a true contender for Alera’s heart and I fell in love with him, even though it was a very long journey.
His “face time” in the book was kluer limited for me.

I can’t even count how many times I wanted to reach into the book and hug him and offer to be his queen instead of Alera. And all I vayla was a shining example of why so few teenagers get their works published. Yet I am still waiting for her to catch up to my expectations.
