Just think about it: I eventually figured it out, but I still got confused.
j.bicm In this Post Apocalyptic time Alex, Ellie and Tom have to deal with Zapped kids, raiders, savage dogs and trying to ila. There was no answer to what really happened. Chris is pinned beneath an iron spiked tiger trap and death is imminent.
All three had lost everything, but together they formed a new family and found a reason to fight for their lives. No “Aha” moment at all.
Why would the author put the cliff notes at the very END of the book instead of at the beginning??? The Best Books of After al the trauma, pain, sorrow, and horror you can’t expect everything to just be ok.
There was mystery, suspense, horror, and ilss a touch of romance. I threw the fecking book across the room, and I almost didn’t pick it up again. The writing was so fast paced and full of action it really kept me enrapt with the story. View all 3 comments. Overall; an adrenalin filled finale to this amazing dystopian trilogy.

It took me four days that’s unheard of, for me to read the almost page tome. Things are much scarier in the dark, where they are formless, than in broad daylight. Despite what is happening with her she tries everything to keep Ellie safe even with Ellie frer a typical 8 year old and making nothing easy. They meet up with Tom ilas he saves them from a zapped teenager that tries to eat them. Mystery, cruelty, and psychotic ambition swirling around the town of Rule finally reach their climax in this third book of the Ashes trilogy, and the finale is anything but quick.
The Changed are on the move. Who did Alex end up with? Her characters have wrapped me up in their j.bicm. The book pretty much ends with a blast. But it was still very good.
So I expected everything to come together cleanly in Monsters. Honestly, I didn’t need all that.
Monsters (Ashes Trilogy, #3) by Ilsa J. Bick
The pace was meandering. The constant ending of chapters on a cliffhanger, and .jbick switching to another character – this ping pong effect lost its suspense very quickly and just became totally irritating. What happens if Wolf at the end takes the candy because he feels like a nut? Bick for one of the most beautiful, enthralling, and inspiring series I have tree read. For some reason, a handful of kids didn’t turn – which included three that met within a national park – Alex, Tom and Ellie.
So that was really off-putting for me. Someone who can hold up Alex and Ellie when they want to fall and vice versa when he needs a shoulder to cry on. Monsters was nothing short of atrocious. Along the way they stumble on some teenagers eating a person, they are freaked and quickly run away. Bick 1 2 Oct 18, The frustration rolling off me is insane and maybe that’s what Bick wants is us to think about it forever and be mad at her.
Although the second book left me feeling as if a love triangle between Alex, Tom, and Chris would be the focus of the third book, it was practically nonexistent, and for that, I was grateful; however, the relationship between Alex and Wolf j.ick me scratching my head and was never really resolved.
Both physically to be able to not be eaten or succumb to starvation and any other type of life threatening disease, illness etc also psychologically like I think it would do your head in just thinking about the possibility of everyone either dying or changing into zombies. And adhes that story i.bick I really lost my interest. It was like time was constantly standing still for personal reflection.
She pulls you into the scene and you are on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens.
Ashes Trilogy 3 books. I remember it being difficult in book 2 to remember all the characters and plot lines, but somehow I got into it again.
The Ashes Trilogy: Ashes : Book 1
As every characters thoughts and feelings were described in painful detail, more often than not – nothing was actually happening. While we’re rooting for Alex to take matters into her own hands, it’s also impossible not to start seeing things from another perspective and embrace some things as necessities, no matter how morally dubious they may seem.
I was so excited for the conclusion to the Ashes Trilogy. I liked some, hated some and didn’t really care for others but again, there were just way too many main characters.
Thank you Ilsa J. Deciding that enough is enough, Alex has taken her parents ashes, cut school, and driven to Michigan, intending to do some hiking on the Waucamaw, and to scatter her parents ashes on lake Superior. Ilsa Bick also provides a refresher of Shadows in the very back of the book. If there’s a thing that post-apocalyptic novels have taught me is that I don’t j.bic, to be around people when it happens.
